June 13, 2017 Laboratory vertical contest was held at the 3rd cafeteria. More than 50 undergraduate students participated.
July 3-7, 2017 BES2017 @ Lyon
Lecturer Shitanda participated in BES2017 @ Lyon.
BES2017 is an academic society where bioelectrochemists from all over the world, mainly in Europe, meet.
Since the first day was a meeting from the evening, I visited the CNRS laboratory (TIMC-IMAG) @ Grenoble. We had a lecture and discussion with Dr. A. Zebda, Prof. Donald Martin and Dr. Tsujimura of University of Tsukuba.
In addition, at the conference, we reunited with Prof. Joseph Wang, who was studying abroad, and discussed biofuel cells.
2017 Laboratory Seminar Camp @ Resol Life Forest
We enjoyed futsal and basketball.
68th Annual Meeting of ISE@Providence
From August 27th to September 2nd, Lecturer Shitanda, Mr. Terai, and Mr. Morigayama participated in the 68th Annual Meeting of ISE held in Providence, USA.
I arrived in Boston on Sunday without going through Narita. It happened to be the same flight as Professor Tsujimura of the University of Tsukuba, so we had dinner in Chinatown in Boston. After that, I moved to Providence by Amtrak and arrived before 23:00. The area around the station was very safe.
Below is the Omni Providence Hotel, which is directly connected to the Convention Center at the venue.
On Monday, after registering for participation, I attended a Plenary lecture by Dr. Adam Heller (Texas, Austin). After that, we listened to a lecture at the venue of the Bioelectrochemistry session and gave a poster presentation by three people.
Terai san received the Best Poster Award. Winners will be invited to the supplementary prize and Banquet and will be honored at Banquet.
At Banquet, we had a good time with South African researchers and Professor Ino of Tohoku University.
Also, I got to know Dr. Nicolas Mano and Dr. Tsujimura from France, and visited Brown University.
It was a fulfilling academic society.
With Dr. Shelly Minteer of Utah University.
With Professor Ochiai and students from Kagurazaka.
September 6-7, 2017 ICFPE2017 @ Jeju Island
Lecturer Shitanda gave an Invited Talk at ICFPE2017 @ Jeju Island on September 6-7, 2017.
The venue was Shilla Jeju.
Jeju Island is famous for seafood such as cutlass fish and turban shells, and it is cheap and delicious.
At night and after the lecture, we deepened our friendship with Dr. Shiba, Dr. Sekine, Dr. Nagamine, and Dr. Sano of Yamagata University.
September 9-11, 2017 Electrochemical Society @ Nagasaki University
September 9-11, 2017 Professor Itagaki, Lecturer Shitanda, Lecturer Hoshi, Lecturer Kato, Kamano, Kumagai, Watanabe, Toda, and Morigayama participated in the Electrochemical Society @ Nagasaki University.
Welcome to Nagasaki Airport! Board.
After the conference, I had time to fly, so I went to Peace Park (but there was a guerrilla rainstorm ...)
September 14-15, 2017 Surface Technology Association 136th Lecture Meeting
September 14-15, 2017 Lecturer Hoshi, Mr. Okamoto, and Mr. Sato (Osamu) made presentations at the 136th Lecture Meeting of the Surface Technology Association @ Kanazawa University.

October 19, 2017 Lecture by Dr. Serge Cosnier
October 19, 2017 A lecture by Dr. Serge Cosnier of the University of Grenoble Alps was held.
Tailoring electrochemical biointerfaces for the design of biosensors and biofuel cells
Dr. Serge Cosnier
Directeur du Département de Chimie Moléculaire UMR CNRS 5250
Group photos were taken after the lecture (Itagaki / Shitanda Lab., Yuasa / Kondo Lab., Abe Lab. (Soken), Tsujimura Lab. (University of Tsukuba), Ohno / Nakamura Lab. (Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology) staff and students gathered.
He visited our laboratory and had a discussion about our laboratory's printable wearable biosensors and biofuel cells.
December 7-8, 2017 AEIS2017
On December 7th and 8th, 2017, AIES 2017 was held at Kagurazaka Morito Memorial Hall, where Dr. Itagaki served as Chair and Dr. Hoshi served as Secretary.
Mr. Yamada, Mr. Furumoda, Mr. Kumagai, Mr. Sato, and Mr. Watanabe received the Best poster award.
